Court Service software problem - not a problem for our clients!
You may have seen the publicity about the Court Service’s version of the Form E for financial disclosure not producing a proper total for assets in its summary page. We would like to reassure all of our clients that this is not a problem for any of our clients.
Firstly, we do not use the Court Service’s form as we have our own form software which is not affected. Secondly, even where a client spouse has used the Court’s form, we do not rely upon the information in the summary. Our invariable practice is to prepare a combined assets spreadsheet, showing assets individually and jointly owned by the parties in one document as this gives a clearer picture. We also do not rely on the Form E Asset Summary because it includes pension assets as available capital, which is rarely the current approach. We hope that this will reassure our clients that the outcome of their case has not been affected by this software problem.back to news...
