Junior Lawyers Division Conference and Ball 8 April

Jackamans' aspiring young lawyers Paige Carter, Sophie Papworth and Juliet Gordon attended the Junior Lawyers Division (JLD) conference and ball on Saturday 8th April at the Law Society in London. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn, promote the firm and build networking opportunities.

The JLD is a part of the Law Society and aims to support LPC students, paralegals, trainees and solicitors up to 5 years PQE. Sophie, Paige and Juliet are members of the Suffolk and North Essex (SNE) JLD group. Juliet is a member of the SNE JLD committee which organises local networking events for junior legal professionals.

The JLD conference included a range of guest speakers including the second solicitor to ever become a judge in the Court of Appeal, the Rt Hon Lord Justice Hickenbottom. The full day conference covered a mix of keynote speeches and presentations, interactive group sessions and workshops. The conference provided helpful insight and invaluable guidance for those starting out in their legal career.

The JLD provided a delicious supper with speeches from Bryan Scant, the chair of the JLD and Robert Bourns, the president of the Law Society. There was dancing to a live band into the early hours of the morning!

Juliet Gordon said: "We really enjoyed the opportunity to attend both the conference and ball. It was a great experience both from a professional development and networking perspective as well as a really enjoyable day out in London."
