Ruth qualified as a solicitor in 1985, becoming a patner in Nigel Steed just two years' later, remaining there until the firm merged with Jackamans in July 2009.
Ruth is experienced in all aspects of family law including divorce, unmarried couple disputes, finances, and disputes involving children, often including consideration of family or spousal business assets. Ruth is a Resolution member, although neither a mediator nor a collaborative lawyer, she is committed to settling client's disputes wherever possible, but without compromising her clients' interests. Ruth divides her week between Jackamans and working as a part-time Tribunal Judge,
Ruth is the Suffolk Area Representative of SBA - The Solicitors' Charity. In her personal life, Ruth is keenly interested in disability issues and in the past was actively involved in, and trustee of, several local charities supporting disabled young people until pressing family commitments intervened. Ruth also enjoys famiy history research.
